the news is deceiving you

Human History

Did you know that our brain is wired to seek out the negative?

Our ancestors had to be almost hypervigilant to protect themselves from any dangers. It was literally the matter of life and death.

You can say that our brain hasn’t completely evolved since then….

It only knows one thing – survival!

This is why it’s so easy to fixate on what you lack, every wrong thing happening in your life, and what went wrong in the past.

It’s also why trauma lingers around for so long.

See for yourself.

If you make one mistake in your speech or stammer when you’re speaking, you tend to remember that one mistake and forget about how well everything else went.

People give compliments all the time, but you remember the one time someone criticised you.

Maybe relationships usually go well for you, but you just can’t let go of that one rejection.

It’s in our nature.

The Media

Media masters know you better than you do. They know psychology. But they’re nasty.

They compete for our attention by searching for the worst things happening around the world and write compelling headlines.

Most articles aren’t even factual and have absolutely nothing to do with the title!

Because of our phones and computers, these beasts have never been thirstier.

My problem with this is that the repetitive input of negativity will delude you into thinking that the world is a terrible place.

It will give you a pessimistic view, completely damaging your full potential.

Have you noticed speeches from people in political power?

They are always blaming someone else for something causing segregation and discrimination.

There are so many incredible things happening around the world, but that’s never shown.

Well, it wouldn’t really draw our attention the same way negative news does.

But you can do yourself a favour and turn off the news.

Why do you need to know every bad thing happening anyway?

Unless you have a plan to do something about it so you need to know then that’s fair.

But I’m definite that not everyone mindlessly feeding their mind with garbage plans on saving the world.

Filter what goes into your mind.

Look up things you need to know about the economy, politics etc for your business, work or education purposes.

But don’t risk your sanity. Protect it.

Who wants to believe that there’s no hope in humanity?

Alas, what you believe is what you receive

Stay optimistic, positive, and share every good news you see.
