a dog's purpose review

*SPOILERS*

a dogs purpose 1.jpg

The first time I watched this movie, I really did not expect it to be what it is.

There’s just something about dogs that makes everyone’s heart melt.

After all, they were made to be a companion for humans.

Synopsis

A dog’s purpose is exactly about what the title says.

This movie consists of different story lines based on one dog that reincarnates over and over again but in a different dog’s body each time.

I hope that made sense?

As he reincarnates, stays with different people, with a different name and body, he keeps wondering about what the purpose of his life could be.

In every lifetime he realised that the people he stayed with needed his companionship, and he felt the need to make them happy.

But he still couldn’t really figure out what his purpose was.

Is the purpose to eat? To sleep?

By the way, I have to emphasise on how emotional his deaths are.

They are very very sad; you must have tissues on you when you watch this.

His main storyline lies with a young boy called Ethan.

They have a very strong and beautiful bond.

In one of his later lifetimes, he even reunites with Ethan.

It's really a wonderful journey.

The movie has suspense, comedy, emotion, and some violence.

My Thoughts

I really liked the concept of this movie and how relatable it is even though it’s about a dog’s purpose.

There are a few things you can take away from this movie.

From my interpretation, you could learn to care for animals, you could believe in miracles, and most importantly you could learn that there may not be a purpose.

Maybe we should just enjoy our journey, live in the present, laugh, love, and take care of people.

Recommendation

I highly recommend watching this heartfelt movie.

It’s fun and meaningful.

You can watch it as a family as well.

What do you think of this movie? Was there something you learnt?

Read, share, comment, and let me know what you think!
